Build > Production & Processing > Compost Bin
The compost bin allows you to turn compostable materials into Mulch, which acts like soil. It has a meter indicating how much compost material it contains (max 2000 units of compost), as well as a 5x5 inventory grid where mulch is outputted. A fully filed compost bin returns 100 units of mulch. Worms can also be placed in the inventory to speed up the process.

- Entrails (10 units)
- Feathers

Notes
- Worms may occasionally spawn instead of Mulch
- Appears to produce approx. 1 Mulch every 4 hours. (?: with N worms)
- It takes 20 Compost, or 0.20 Swill to generate 1 Mulch.
- Mulch produced appears softcapped by the quality of the Compost Bin
- Adding worms to the inventory speeds up production of Mulch. (see also Talk page)
When the compost bin inventory is full. Generated mulch/worms are discarded/lost. (assuming the same for the potential Wood Incorrupt curiosity)(This seems to have changed ...)- One bucket of swill fills half the compost bin.
- One bucket of seeds(1000) fully fills an empty compost bin.
- (winter) An active compost bin is also a heat source. And will melt snow around in a circle of 4.5 tiles.
- Stacking: To directly get all worms into your inventory in stacked form. Use "stack all" on the worms inside the compost bin. (The other ways of getting all worms out the compost bin don't auto-stack the worms.) ... (Mulch don't stacks)
