Legacy talk:Quality

I've added formulas for the general quality of metal products, and Smithy's Hammer. I did however have 1 error when testing, but it seems mostly accurate.

A Q50 Bronze Steed was created with Q35 bronze, Q72 anvil, and Q72 hammer.

A Q41 Bronze Steed was created with Q35 bronze, Q72 anvil, and Q26 hammer.

A Q42 Bronze Steed was created with Q35 bronze, Q72 anvil, and Q28 hammer.

That last test should've created a Q41 steed. Any further testing by others would be appreciated. -Apocalypse Please

Changed information on Survivals' maximum effectiveness to 300. -Apocalypse Please

first the comment above, if calculated and rounded seperately : 2*35/4+72/4+28/4=17+18+7, based on a quote from loftar (i think on this page) also there should be a section on how the symbel scales with quality -Yolken (how do i get the time, date and link to my name?)

Utility of low quality items

I didn't intend to just add a single note about the utility of low ql food. Other possible things that could be useful at low quality are training weapons and seed bags when using auto-sort. Can't think of other things. --Deadguy60 01:06, 16 May 2012 (EDT)

Quality page in need of improvement

As subject says. I'll be taking a look at it over the next few days. There's a lot of duplicate and unnecessary information here. MagicManICT (talk) 12:49, 14 November 2013 (EST)

From initial read-through, The opening section is fine, and might need some tweaking for readability, but I'm not that person. It's at least as good as I can do.

Almost all of the rest can be eliminated as duplicate or extraneous information to the subject.

Discussion--this should take place on each item page. While there are some general formulas, several items are unique. Better to have that information there and a cross reference (see <item x> talk page for discussion on <item y>) rather than get the discussion spread out all over the place

Armor and Clothing, Weapons--extraneous and duplicate. Each of these has their own talk page. If someone wants to make a chart for these on the proper page, let it be there, not here. The mention that armor quality improves really isn't helpful.

Food--useful statements, but again, it's mentioned again on the food page

Miscellaneous--everything here is duplicate. Some of the specifics (such as effect of drinking quality water) may not be on the right page and needs moved. The subsections should also be double checked to make sure the data here is duplicate and can be deleted or needs to be moved to the appropriate page.

Skill values--Useful section. I'm not sure if it would be better to keep it here or have an "effect on quality" statement on the appropriate skill page.

Those are my thoughts. If anyone has any objections or suggestions, post here, my Talk page, or PM on the HnH forums.--MagicManICT (talk) 13:12, 14 November 2013 (EST)

I thoroughly disagree with assessment that duplicate equals unnecessary (unless of course we're talking about duplication's within same page). This is a summary page and as such by definition should contain information that is elsewhere. Correctness obviously needs to be maintained (a property/query combo could help with that regarding formulas) and some descriptions improved, but as a whole, in my opinion, nature of the page should remain as is. --Rook (talk) 12:01, 17 November 2013 (EST)
(bump) Personally I think the Quality page should handle general quality stuff without going into specific item quality listings. Specific item quality listings are more something for other general item-type pages. Other than that I have not really digested/dissected the Quality page yet. --.MvGulik. 19:15, 18 November 2013 (EST)
