Authority drain

About authority drain: saw my village with only one banner tick at -242. Village upkeep was 200 in legacy, so banners could be 42 now. --Turtlesir (talk) 06:01, 21 October 2015 (EDT)

Space Optimized Banner Placement

(presuming Vbanners allow for this (ie:untested))
Default placement vs Space optimized placement.
(Space optimized placement is a manual adjustment of initial default placed Village Banners)

Upsides:

• More space covered with less active banners. (2 vs 5 (in this particular situation))
• ... Might look better ... to some. (aesthetics)

Downsides:

• Less maximum authority increase per covered space. (note: Statue of the Chieftain gives more maximum-authority per authority-drain than village banner)
• Harder to place. (more effort and temporary banners involved)
• More prone to having gabs knocked into it. (no v-claim overlapping vs default overlap)
  • Harder to fix gabs.

Personal conclusion: Only applicable where the aesthetics completely overrule all other downsides.
