Talk:Barter Stand
Here's the guide on how to use barter stands from the Community Fair. I think it might have information that's not in the article yet, I'll take a closer look at it later.
there is a rule of thumbs, dont place multiple green hands together, and dont mix green with red hands in the same cupboard
you can, however, mix red hands. thoose hands can be placed together, they just mark the cupboard for payment to get teleported to
green hands mark containers where you have items u want to sell
after pressing change button select payment type, either by clicking on coins in your inventory or item u want people to pay with
if u select item, make sure to have the item discovered first. sometimes not all items can be selected via change button, because loftar and jorb didnt add them to the barter stand system
for example u can make people pay with meat of an animal of a specific kind (bear or moose)
but you can't make people pay with apple pies
the first box (on top of change button) where u can enter numbers, is for amount, of currency
and 2nd is for quality
if you select silver or golden coins as your currency, don't type in quality because silver and gold doesnt have any
but if u want people to pay with bones or pearls, u can put the quality there, it will take that quality minimum and higher
make sure you have both green and red hand per item you selling, otherwise it wont be possible to sell
the maximum range for green and red hands to be active is 250 tiles (2.5 minimaps) so if take them home, the shop will stop working
thats why we give out houses inside the cf
if you want to use cast iron coins, you can print them west of the charter stone
- side note, the rule of thumbs can be broken if you know exactly what you are doing, for example if you have multiple green hands together ull be selling same object at different slots, and if you have red and green together you will be selling objects that people sell you from another stand, but make sure not to do it with coins, since they stack, even if people pay with a few coins for something, money will always stack once it gets teleported to a cupboard from person's inventory
if youd like people to sell you stuff and you want to pay coins for it, you can right click a stack of coins in your inventory and select Make Piles, and it will make whole bunch of stacks of coins with the ammount uve entered then u can place those stacks as individual objects inside the cupboard with a green hand, and have the "Change" button select whatever you want people to sell you, use first box to set the amount and 2nd box to set the quality. Stuff to fix in the article, according to someone who has experience with barter stands:
actually part about claim isnt right, you can right click claim stands even if they are located on the claim that doesnt allow trespass the whole CF village claim only allows trespass (except for a few areas with cairns that allow for rummaging and theft), and you can right click claim the stands like that, but yeah claiming stands doesnt leave any scents another detail, you can have barter stands be built on different mine levels, say have a stand in the underground (nomatter which level) and have a container at the max distance as if the stand was standing outside or vice versa hands would only work if they are placed in a container, but wouldnt work from character's inventory Click "Connect" and put the green (giving) hand in the first container. Items inside this container will be sold. You can place as many of you want of up to 5 different types of items
this part is a bit misleading, would probably be better if you specify to click the left "Connect" for green hand, and in the next paragraph about the red hands, to click the right "Connect" button for that also about "You can place as many of you want of up to 5 different types of items", while still talking about a container with 1 green hand. which isnt the case, each green hands sells exactly whats in the container, item by item, so if you put different items (item types) it will sell them all 1 by 1 starting from the last placed item going back all the way up to the first item placed (which would be the last to sell) just make a 4th paragraph saying something like: You can setup up to 5 different trade transactions in a barter stand, one for each slot with its own sets of buttons. another thing:
Note: the stand can currently only accept items which are used in crafting recipes, for example all of the ingredients, but none of the specific baked goods (though you can select the general baked goods category). This may take a good while to fix.
its not really the case, the stand acn accept items that you have discovered, not just the crafting recipes, u can also sell finished products that dont take part of any recipes, and there are some items that jorb didnt add, for example there are currently all different meat types u can setup except for pork meat specifically, or stuff like tokens and sketch pagesAnts (talk) 13:42, 4 September 2017 (EDT)
