documentation?
Could we get better documentation on how some of these templates work? The fact that there is no page on this is unacceptable. --Seefly (talk) 16:46, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
- Yea, some documentation would be nice. But as creator of that particular system I just did not get around to it. One, although somewhat minor, related reason was/is that one's you do write some doc, it also need to be updated when related critical changes are made.
- There is "how to use" and "how it works" documentation. Both are different beasts. Personally I think the "how to use" part is relative easy to figure out by looking how it is used (point in case: you did not seem to have a problem with it). But still, I guess some documentation on that is a bit overdue.
- On some other point, as Mediawiki's are in essence based on voluntary contribution. That trailing "unacceptable" part kinda gives your question/request a demanding tone. Which generally will not do anything when it comes to motivating others, and it might even backfire. As such you might like to question if it is wise to including such highly personal judgment calls.
