Legacy category names

Although the general 'used' names for legacy related categories is with a space. -> "(Category:)Legacy <category name>" vs "(Category:)Legacy:<category name>"
The two exceptions here are:
  • Legacy:Bar of Common Metal
  • Legacy:Bar of Hard Metal
These are set in the "Infobox legmetaobj" template, and rely on the "legacy-specific" parameter input.
Changing the "legacy-specific" parameter input from "Legacy:<category name>" to "Legacy <category name>" would most likely break related stuff down the line.

Changing all "Legacy <category name>" to "Legacy:<category name>" on the other hand is not a minor job.
Although most related categories can be changes inside "Infobox legmetaobj" template.
But:
  • The potential side effects down the line are unclear at this moment.
  • Also unclear is which categories would need to be changes somewhere else. (some reside in the main subject pages themself)

Than there are also potential name clashes. Like for example: "(Category:)Legacy Equipment" vs Page:"(MAIN:)Legacy:Equipment".
This should not have any effect on the category content itself. But might play a role at a deeper level.

Overall current decision:
  • Leaving it as it for now. --Mvg bot (talk) 11:48, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
