Fertilized egg timer

Can anyone verify if relocating a fertilized egg will disrupt the timer for hatching, or even cancel it? --DrakeSaint (talk) 12:09, 28 October 2013 (EDT)

Why are you asking this? Fertilized eggs have a visual timer on them. Check that timer and you got your answer. --.MvGulik. 20:09, 28 October 2013 (EDT)
The timer is resetting on my client if i try to move the eggs inside the coop.--DrakeSaint (talk) 11:26, 29 October 2013 (EDT)
Aha. Out of personal curiosity, which client is that?
I don't think this is normal game/server behavior. And as such I'm currently suspecting it to be a client issue. If the vanilla client is not showing the same thing, its almost guaranteed to be a client issue. --.MvGulik. 11:49, 29 October 2013 (EDT)
Enders. I had fertilized eggs with close to 30% timer done. Relocated them to somewhere else inside the coop (didn't even put them inside inventory). Next day, timers were gone. Going to try on vanilla then report back. --DrakeSaint (talk) 12:06, 29 October 2013 (EDT)
Kinda sounds to me that you did not put the eggs in range of a chicken. This feature is documented at the main page (although it could be written a bit clearer).
Note: I personally will quickly stop answering questions like these. As I think the HnH forum is available for those. And other than Rook there are no other frequently active RoB-wiki members around. --.MvGulik. 15:48, 29 October 2013 (EDT)

Hatching

Ok, after researching the forums and testing, I feel like the below information is quite needed on this page:

  • Eggs are labelled as "fertilized" or "not fertilized" forever. So removing a fertilized egg from a chicken coop and then putting it again will only reset the timer for it to hatch, but will not remove it's status of fertilized or not.
  • Fertilized eggs will only hatch if allocated in a 2x2 space below a coop chicken.
  • Quality of the chicken hatching eggs did not affect the resulting chick's quality.
  • Relocating fertilized which already started it's timer will naturally reset it.

You can rewrite the main page on the 2x2 space if you like, as that is a general known fact. Point 3 needs data on how you tested it, as I think you only tested one potential side of it. Point 4 is unclear to me. And point 1 ... makes no sense to me at all. --.MvGulik. 21:45, 30 October 2013 (EDT)
