Default fish
Brill is one of the general default fish you will catch most of the time. (not sure what the other one was. Overall q of fishing gear had some effect here to "q<10<q".) --.MvGulik. 10:18, 18 July 2013 (EDT)
It must be noted that Perch is easy to come by once you have the proper gear and lures ready. On the Last Quarter today I have caught plenty of fish with three basic lures: Wood Fish, Rock Lobster, and the Feather Fly. --CinderHeart(talk) 07:30, 22 July 2013 (EDT)
Chance distribution
"I noticed that each fish has a varying chance of getting caught" (CinderHeart 30 July 2013)
- Yep. That's something that crossed my mind to when fishing.
The general idea that makes sense here is that based on the current situation (Water type(deep/shallow), Moon phase, Equipment quality) is that there is a different chance for the different fish types to be caught. If this is the case, it kinda makes sens to add the count per fish type caught in a given fishing session. This would give a indication what the general chance is per fish type in a given situation.
For starters session data could just be dumped in the fish list (single bullet line, or as <pre> text). But if anyone knows some alternatives for this, I'm all ears. I'm not going to specify what data I think might be useful, as that probably would scare off most wiki fishermans's.. Based on the current used data set. Moon phase, water type and fish type(s)+count(s) are basically the minimum specs for a session report. --.MvGulik. 08:44, 30 July 2013 (EDT)
Passenger seat (old)
It seems that I wasn't able to fish from the passenger seat of a boat. Can anyone confirm this? If it's true, it seems like it'd be a good idea to add that to the fishing and/or rowboat articles. Logiedan 23:55, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
- I couldn't either. I suspect you can if you can click in exactly the right place. However, if you're in that situation, just ask your driver to switch seats so you can collect wonderful fishies~ Breadbocks 8:27 PM 10/17/11
Suddenly quitting fishing (old)
Has the origin of suddenly quitting fishing been determined as of yet? I have a suspicion it's bait/lure related, but am not sure. If anyone knows it should definitely be part of this article.Lunarius Haberdash 13:58, March 21, 2011 (PST)
- It surely depends both on the lure, the time of the day, and the day of the week (ie. phase of the moon). Theodor 02:07, 22 March 2011 (CDT)
- When your character suddenly quits fishing. There are two possible reasons. 1) Your using a lure and while catching some fish, something in your fishing gear broke. or 2) For both lure and bate. The fish you caught was below q10. The options at this point are: 1) Move closer to the node center, or 2) Wait until the node is regenerated. (nts: should be added to main page.) --.MvGulik. 15:23, 1 May 2013 (EDT)
