Talk:Wild Windsown Weed
WWW behavior
> The kind of seed you obtain from Wild Windsown Weeds is random and not dependent on the type of terrain on which they are found. However, if you find several Wild Windsown Weeds in the same "area" they will tend to produce the same type of seed.
Removing this because it's struck through... I'm not sure it's 100% random now, I think there are still some clusters of the same type & quality of seeds, and some seeds are a lot rarer (I hardly ever see peppercorns). I've always gotten the impression it's based on what's growing nearby (in a very general sense, and not sure how nearby "nearby" needs to be). I could swear I read that jorb wanted to make it so *all* WWWs reflect real crops being grown, but I can't see that confirmed so I didn't list it.
- 1) Struck text: Fine by me.
- 2) Clustering: Might look that way. But that could be a side effect of the higher chance to get particular crop's.
- 3) Growing nearby: Yea. But those nearby growing crops are generally also high chance www returned crop types. (Although it make no real sense to me the server(code wise) would actually scan for growing crops, unless its using a relative small area.)
- Figure 2 & 3 can only be somewhat explored while having only some rare www returned crop-type in a given large area. Personally I think they might just use some crop-type ratio/chance with randomized quality (based on highest planted quality, per crop-type probably).
