When a hearthling (player) dies his body stays unmovable on the place of death for 6-8 hours during which anyone with the skill Theft or the reincarnation of said hearthling can come and loot the items in the inventory, equipment and mentory (curiosity screen) of the corpse.
After that time, the corpse decays leaving only the Skeleton. All the items in inventory, equipment and mentory that were not looted are scatered on the floor at this point.
You can bury the body and the skull of your ancestor to gain 20% and 10% respectively of your dead character's attributes and skills. Look Death for more information
If you had the deceased person kinned you can still see his name above the corpse.
