Craft > Metal Working > Shovel
A shovel can be used with little stamina drain to rapidly dig for clay/sand/soil. Using a shovel to remove tree stumps halves the time compared to using an axe. Equipping a shovel also greatly reduces stamina drain, (cuts the drain to your stamina by half) when using Adventure > Landscaping > Plow Field for those single spots that are too much of a hassle to grab a plow for.
