Just in case. There is a Legacy specific discussion page.

A wagon can hold 20 liftable objects and 64 inventory items. Boats, however, cannot be loaded into the wagon.

  • A wagon is bigger than a palisade's gate. Make sure it is built outside, to avoid accidentally trapping a wagon inside an enclosure.

Yet a "double gate" or "wagon gate" can be created with a little creative work, a couple extra players, and a battering ram.

  • A bull (cow) that is leashed to a wagon can get loose if left alone for a long enough period of time.
  • Wagons kill small critters (rats, frogs, rabbits and chickens) when they run over them.
  • Two people can ride in the front and two people can ride in the back.
  • Wagon speed - 4.5 tile per second.

Other stuff that can be done from inside a wagon (by, at least, the wagon driver.) are:

  • Picking up a single tree log. (The tree log seems to be the only object allowing for this.)
  • Foraging plants and harvesting crops. (Presuming also Planting crops) (Items go to the characters inventory.)
  • Stone Paving and planting grass. (Presuming also Brick paving.)
  • Leading other leased animals. (For leasing you need to dismount the wagon.)

General advice

People riding in wagons can log out while in a passenger seat, and when they log back in, generally log in to the wagon. If you're crossing rivers with multiple people and a single raft, the passengers can log out while in the wagon, and the driver can raft the empty wagon over. The other players should be able to log in on the other side of the river. Rafts can not carry wagons containing logged-in player characters.

Traveling with a wagon trough forests can be a tricky and relative slow process, as the wagon can get easily get stuck against some object. Reversing a wagon when needed can best be done by un-leasing the bull and moving and re-leasing the bull again at the back of the wagon. (see also notes)

Notes

  • The bull will be unleashed from the wagon when some player opens up the bull's info window. (This is probably be the main reason why bull's get loose after a long time.)
  • Wagons, just like boats, can travel freely trough claimed areas without the need for criminal action. (Exit the wagon with care when doing so.)
  • There is no, known, limit to the distance the bull can be move from a stuck wagon. Although this is a relative slow process as it involves a lot of clicking, as the bull will only move a small distance per click when the wagon is stuck. (useful for getting a wagon unstuck on potential hostile grounds.)
  • Characters taking place in the wagon, will displace any logged-out character on the same seat.
  • Wagon seat order is always the same. (seat related logged-out characters are ignored here)
