Infection Source (disputed)
- Not so long ago the majority of mankind believed the Earth was flat. That did not make it true though. (group pressure)
- Just that something was never seen by one person is no solid proof of it not being true. (personal conviction)
- Personally I have not seen or tested either case. But I also have not seen any test details for both cases either. So as far as I'm considered they might both be potentially true.
- Vatas is free to re-adjust the main page, as Kitsuneg should have taken this to the discussion page in the first place.

- In response to Mvgulik, It was me, not Kitsune, that has redone the page.
- As of World 16.1, me and my group has extensively tested how Deep Worm is obtained. We have an alt meant only for getting deep worm, who has never seen a midge or other small kritter. Every single time this alt has eaten meat that came from an animal that had a disgusting tapeworm, it has gotten Deep Worm minutes later without fail.
- On the other hand, my main who has been extensively devoured by leeches and ticks has only had Deep Worm once; immediately after eating infected meat saying "i wonder if this will give me deep worm!"
- if its needed, i can formally record my tests.
- Pardon my terrible formatting as i've never used a talk/discussion page on mediafire before.

- >"It was me, not Kitsune, that has redone the page." ??? Not really following this. The only thing that makes sense to me is that your referring to this edit.
- >"As of World 16.1" Ok. I figure there are no changes here compared to 16.0. But knowing this at least helps if 16.1 turns out to has some unexpected differences.
- >"me and my group ... without fail" Sound like a good executed test case to me. And I also heard similar stories from others about infected meat. So at this point I consider (Meat+disgusting tapeworm == infected meat => Eat => Deep Worm) proven.
- >"if its needed, i can formally record my tests." Always useful of course. But at this point I think its up to the
getting deep worm through bitesside to provide additional data/proof of that case. (Sorry to say its not helping here that Kitsune unfortunately has a questionable credibility level in my view.) - PS: Talk pages generally have a easy button to add a user signature. Alternatively you can also just type

- >"me and my group ... without fail"
- >"So at this point I consider.. proven." I'm not sure "without fail" is proven... I haven't experimented with simple roast meat, but I prepared yesterday's dinner (16.1 btw) with tapeworm meat and nothing happened. I've gotten quite a few tapeworms and I'm sure I must have prepared food with "infected" meat at least a couple times since being low level but I haven't gotten deep worm once. So it could be fairly consistent and high likelihood, but I don't think it's a guarantee. It's also possible it depends on the food type, but it could also just be RNG on my part.

- I'm pretty sure dev's added some RND factor(s) in all of this. Other than just the food type, I figure it might also be possible the RND chance get lower based on food processing steps, or alternatively the number of ingredients in play (potentially making higher level (meat)foods always save). Best result is probably some general conclusion that more or less fits the observed 'infected meat' vs 'Deep Worm' chance behavior. --.MvGulik. 01:16, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
