Decided to test Alder because Finnish wikipedia mentions it being historically used in tar production alongside Pine.
During an undetermined amount of time, Tar kiln full of Alder block produced 1.47 liters of tar. In the same time, Kiln filled with Pine blocks produced 6.54 liters of tar.
IIRC Spruce and Fir were mentioned to be good sources of tar as well.

Blocks
Tree | Blocks *1 | Tar(l) | cases *2 | Tar(l)/Block |
---|---|---|---|---|
Beech | 30 | 1.45 | 1 | 0,0483 *3 |
Osier | 80 | 3.66 | 1 | 0.04575 |
Warty Birch | 80 | 3.86 | 1 | 0.04825 |
Mirkwood | 40 | 1.87 | 1 | 0.04675 |
- *1) Default blocks: 80 (column to allow non 80-blocks cases to be added too.)
- *2) Same result case counter. (basic idea: More stats collection. Use a new row for an already present tree which has a different tar outcome. Random component check.)
- *3) Recurring Decimal
