Potential season's row coloring

Someone mentioned having color coding based on season, so I attempted some basic color with a darker variation for that "banding" effect to see how it would work out. Maybe it's something we can potentially include once the info is all filled out.--Rexz (talk) 04:37, 27 December 2019 (EST)

seem like "manual banding" effect is not going to work out between rows since color is tied specifically to the row, unless there's some advance formatting applied. Might have to look into this some more --Rexz (talk) 04:37, 27 December 2019 (EST)

When it comes to colors, I don't think they generally should be used unless they really add something useful. And when using colors when not really needed, less(faint) is better than bold(high saturation).
(replaced some colornames with rgba coloring, which allows row-banding to shine trough. A bit hard to see as row-banding is already kinda faint (at least on my monitor))

Look a lot better actually, and yea it's just something I wanted to try out as someone in discord suggested it. Ty for the tip and I'll keep that in mind!

Snow: Above and Below

A bit of a heads up. Thinking of adding "Above"and "Below" for winter. Considering this makes no sense for water based items, this either means 3 winter columns ... or a table split. Ground vs water, in which case a separate cave table seems logical (unless there are some shared ground & cave items). Giving it some more thought ...
Reason: Some winter ground items, that are known to be available below the snow (or when there is no snow on the ground), are tagged as "No", making the current setup ambiguous for winter data.

Perhaps a cleaner way to seperate this would be to have just one additional column for winter "affected by ice/snow" with a Y or N. However there is only two items that are not affected by snow atm which is taproot and mistletoe.

Yea. A single additional winter column might work too.
ps: Do you know of any Forageable that can be found at both ground level and caves ?

I believe all cave Forageables are exclusive to the underground. Perhaps they could even have their own seperate table/list since they seem to be unaffected by seasons.

Infobox Integration

I think we should start working towards integrating forage seasonality into the infobox. It's probably a 2-3 hour project. Any ideas on implementation or presentation? --Ricky (talk) 18:15, 13 March 2020 (EDT)

2-3 hour work? Sure for the data transferring part only perhaps. (Could be faster when scripted/botted (less error prone too, if that matters), but if you like to do it manually, be my guest)
It would in that case just be handled as text, and blindly echoed by the metaobj infobox template. Needles to say that in that case the related data will be scattered across the related pages, and can't be re-used/displayed on other pages. The current source table version will have to go of course, as it would be duplicate input data.
