When a Hearthling (player) dies his body stays behind as a corpse. Corpse is liftable by anyone, but can't be placed into vehicles like Rowboat or Cart.
Player who lost their character can start creating a new character and use Runestone in the Graveyard of Character Creation Room to inherit the dead character. This character, once entered into proper game world, counts as descendant of the deceased character.
Items that the dead character had equipped or was carrying in their Inventory or Study can be collected by the descendant, or as a [Crime]] by anyone who have the Theft skill.
After 16-22 real hours, the corpse decays, leaving only the Skeleton (which can be placed into vehicles). All the remaining items in inventory, equipment and mentory that were not looted are scattered on the floor at this point.
You can bury the body and the skull of your ancestor to gain 20% and 10% respectively of your dead character's attributes and skills. Look up Death for more information.
If you had the deceased person kinned you can still see his name above the corpse.
