Rustroot extract is used to prospect for mines. The quality of the extract determines the detection range when prospecting, Jorb has stated "If there are no minerals where you are standing, the extract scans a ((Q-10) * 5) x ((Q-10) * 5) tile area around you and returns a dowsing pointer to the closest found mineral, if any." So if you are using rustroot extract of quality 20, you will be scanning a square with sides of length 50.
The water used appears to have impact on the extract quality. Jar has no effect.
How to Acquire
In order to craft rustroot extract you need an empty Jar, a container filled with at least 0.4 liters of Water and Rustroot in your inventory.
Quality
The quality of the rustroot extract depends on the quality of the used rustroot and water.
