Craft > Clogs
Clogs are a form of shoes, as well as a minor defensive armor.
You can find your first clogs in the newbie chest when creating a new character.
At QL 10, Clogs have 40 hitpoints and AC 0/10 ( see Quality for information on how it scales with QL).
