"Seal" redirects here. For the Curiosity, see Great Wax Seal.
Seals are considered one of the fastest animals in the game. Only Snekkjas and Knarrs of higher quality are able to outpace a Seal in water.
Seals are able to inflict Seal Finger wounds with their attacks, additionally these can also be obtained from butchering their corpses. The chance for wound from butchering is reduced if wearing Poor Man's Gloves or Plate Gauntlets.
Combat
Behaviour
Passive until you aggro them.
Combat Moves
Strategy
Seals are not tough opponents, their only advantage is their speed, which will be drastically reduced when taken on land. Even a Hearthling without a horse can deal with a Seal outside of water
While on Horse, Seals pose no threat to any player with at least basic knowledge of combat and relatively low stats.
If fought from a ship, and the retreating Seal is faster than you, break aggro and quickly initiate combat with them again, doing so will cause the Seal to return to combat, just to receive a finish blow from you.
In-Game Example(s)
Dead Grey Seal. Can be skinned for Fresh Grey Seal Hide.
Skinned Grey Seal. Can be butchered for Intestines, Entrails, Animal Fat and Raw Grey Seal.
Grey Seal Skeleton. Can be collected for Flipper Bones and Bone Material.
Notes
- While most of Seals are slower than a higher quality ship, some Seals can be a bit faster and will be able to catchup to the player that is not using a top speed ship.
