Things You can Do

Useful activities Help expand some article stubs. Locate and mark pages that need expanding as article stubs. Create links to some orphaned pages. Upload and add some images! Visit Special:Upload. Add them to a category too, like [[Category:Images]]. Write a new article that's on the the wanted list! Fix any double redirects by redirecting the first page to the third page. Check for broken redirects and either mark them for deletion or find a more appropriate target. Consider splitting up very long pages into different pages or subpages. Create some links on dead end pages. Verify some Questionable information

Troubleshooting

• Symptom: Changes in one section of the wiki not showing up in another section of the wiki.

1. Hit Refresh at the top of each wiki page affected
2. Edit/Save each wiki page affected. (You dont need to actually edit anything, just open/save the page
3. Perform a Super Refresh of your browser by pressing: Windows:CTRL+F5, Mac/Apple:Apple+R, Linux:F5.

• Reuploaded image wont change

Open the image in a separate tab and refresh your browser

• Small, hard to read wiki formula:

Having an empty line before and after the math formula will display the formula larger.

Properties and #ask queries

RoB wiki uses the Semantic MediaWiki extension. This adds some additional feature to the basic Mediawiki like the Property and #ask features.

One down side here is that Semantic annotations needs to be enables for a given Mediawiki name-space to be able to 1) set Properties in the pages in that name-space, and 2) that #ask queries are limited to returning pages (cataloged) from those Semantic annotations enabled name-spaces.

• Talk (Main talk) ... same on all talk/discussion pages in all parent name-spaces.

• Legacy ... ie: no setting of Properties and not returning pages from this name-space in #ask queries.

The workaround, when needed (mainly for page administration purposes) is to use Categories and the Category-list pages.
