A bone saw is required to make boards from a log. With a Metal Saw, you get ~50% more boards per log than you get with a bonesaw. Different types of logs provide different amounts of boards, see more here.

How to Acquire

Before crafting a bone saw one must have discovered Bone Material. It is not sufficient to take the bone off the ground or from a container, it must be discovered by butchering a chicken or rabbit yourself, or collecting bones from the skeleton of a larger animal.
