Brimstone Butterfly is a Curiosity which can be used in the Study Report to earn Learning Points.

How to acquire

They can spawn under certain conditions (biome, time of the day) and can be chased and caught by simply right-clicking them in the game world or (generally much easily) through the minimap.

It is confirmed that winged insects are much less likely to spawn when it rains.

Trivia

Based on real species of butterfly, Gonepteryx rhamni. Many non-English languages associate its yellow color with lemons or citrus in general.

In-game representation reflects species often being the first butterfly to take flight when spring arrives, and disappearing for most of the summer.

However the real species has another breeding cycle in late summer or early fall. This is not modeled in-game.
