Primitive crops are wild plants can be harvested and cultivated into some other advanced crops.
They turn into their advanced crop variant after about three plantings.
It has been reported that mixing seeds from different batches can mess up the advanced crop counter (rounded down?), making it take more crop iteration for the primitive crop to evolve to its advanced crops-type. One way that seems to do this very effective, if so desired, is to use a single barrel where the harvested wild-seeds are re-added/mixed before being replanted again.
