Adder's can't enter into water, even shallows.
Without a horse, adders can still be squashed with a Cart but this can be a tricky and may allow adder to bite you.
Carrying intact dead adders to base for processing (like chickens) is relatively space efficient, you get lots of useful stuff from them (while their fangs are nearly useless, their meat can be relatively high-end material for WILL food)
Snakeskin Belt is a desirable piece of equipment to have because of it's toolbelt function. Compared to same-capacity Hunter's Belt you end up using more hides but don't have to wait for Tanning process and metal isn't required.
