Finery forges are used to refine cast iron into bloom, which can then be worked by a smith in order to produce wrought iron. Place up to nine units of cast iron bars into the finery forge along with 2 charcoal and set alight, after some time the metal will either turn into valuable bloom or worthless slag.
Finery forges can also be used to convert stacks of a hundred Coins into a bar of metal, and stacks of ten coins into a nugget. Doing this takes 2 units of charcoal, and will not affect the quality of the metal.
A finery forge in combination with the fuel used can softcap bloom during the process of making wrought iron.
