The roundpole fence is not able to protect you from thieves, or boars and is very easily destroyed. Fences cannot be built on dirt.
How to Acquire
Build > Walls and Fences > Roundpole Fence
Begin by constructing a cornerpost and then right click on the cornerpost to expand the fence.
You can build a gate by building 2 cornerposts so that there is a 2 tile wide gap between them. Right click on one of the cornerposts to build a gate. The gates work just like Palisade and Brickwall gates, except they don't require keys.
Notes
- Fences, gates and cornerposts, like all objects, decay more slowly if built on paved tiles.
- Gates, even when open, seem to cause pathfinding issues especially with livestock; If there is no other pathfinding choice, they need to be led straight through the gate, else they will get stuck.
