Hemp is a plant that is generally harvested for Hemp Fibres Each tile harvested will yield 10-15 seeds depending on your skills. The hemp fibre will drop to the ground to be picked up manually.
If hemp is harvested at the second to last stage where the plants sprout orange buds, then harvesting hemp will yield Fresh Hemp Buds which can be dried on herbalist table and smoked to gain bonuses. However, harvesting at this stage will not yield hemp seeds or plant fibres.
Hemp grows faster than Flax (about 2 hours faster) [Verify], while providing Plant Fibres as well as Hemp Buds, thus making flax a lackluster alternative in most situations. The growth time, however, can be affected by Realm bonuses.
