How to Acquire

You need a cauldron or clay cauldron with at least 1 liters of hot water to make a Moules Frites. The resulting item quality is influenced by the quality of the water and the ingredients, and is softcapped by Cooking*Perception. Firewood does not play a role in the quality formula.

Any River Pearls that would have been found in the mussels will be returned to your inventory.

Ingredients

Beetroots add Dexterity. Carrots add Perception. Turnips add Will. Cavebulb adds Psyche.

Meta

In terms of energy gain, it would make more sense to eat the ingredients raw than cook them. In terms of FEPs, there are much more variables. For example, high-quality Cauldron will greatly boost the quality (and therefore FEP yield) of boiled food. Note that fresh characters, depending on amount of bonuses they have to FEP gain, might fill their entire food bar with a single boiled mussel.

Game Development

  • Narwhal Study (2026-01-22) >"Crafting anything with "River Pearl Mussels" or "Oyster"s will now return any potential pearls found in the mollusks, meaning that it is now safe to cook with them without losing pearls by doing so. On account of this, the "Moules Frites" recipe now takes mussles, quite simply, rather than boiled mussels."
