Finery forges are used to refine cast iron into bloom, which can then be worked by a smith in order to produce wrought iron. Place up to nine units of cast iron bars into the finery forge along with 2 charcoal and set alight, after roughly 9 minutes (Real time) the metal will either turn into valuable bloom or dross.
Finery forges can also be used to convert stacks of a hundred coins into a bar of metal. Doing this takes 2 units of charcoal, and will not affect the quality of the metal.
A finery forge in combination with the fuel used can softcap bloom during the process of making wrought iron.

- Stack of Stacks (2023-03-07)◎ >"Fixed the old fuel bug and removed the work-around for it. Ovens/smelters/&c. no longer reset their progress when burning out, rather each item therein tracks the average fuel quality it has seen while burning, and uses that upon completion."
- Fishing for Finery (2021-04-25)◎ >"Added variable materials to "Finery Forge"s. They now take color and texture from the materials they were made from. Note that this implied a slight change to the recipe, which might have interesting quality implications."
