Tree is a generic term which can refer to any of the following: .
How to Acquire
To grow a tree, one needs a Treeplanter's Pot, an Herbalist Table, Water 1 Liter, Soil x4, and a seed of the tree you wish to plant. Place the Soil, Water, and seed into the pot, and the pot on the table. After 1 hour and 20 minutes, the tree will either sprout or die (dependent on Nature/Industry slider). If it is dead, all you can do is empty the pot and start over. If it has sprouted, you will have approximately eight hours to plant it before it dies. Take the pot, find a spot of forest or grassland (see #Tree Information) where you wish to plant it, and right click on the spot while holding the pot to get the option to plant it. The tree will steadily increase in quality while it grows until it hits maturity and thus its maximum quality.
- All products of the tree are of the same quality at a given point in time (branches, logs, seeds, etc.)
- Tree products, when taking them from a tree, are not effected by any soft-capping.
- It is recommended to give the tree a 5x5 space around it to completely grow. If anything with a hitbox (anything that stops you if you run into it) is within the space, the tree's growth will be stunted. This excludes impassible terrain such as water.
- Trees grow faster if their roots are upon its native terrain. For example, a Fir Tree will grow faster than an Oak Tree in the Coniferous forest while the Oak Tree will grow faster than the Fir Tree in Broadleaf. Also note that Broadleaf and Coniferous forests look the same even if they are different forest terrains.
- At random time, a tile will change its type depending on type of trees nearby. Priority increases from "No Trees", to "Broadleaf", to "Coniferous". This can be used to convert biomes such as grassland into forest tiles.
- The base time of growth for each phase up to the 5h phase depends on the tree type and terrain. Growing into the 6th phase (the final phase, ie. a fully grown tree) is random, and will only occur when the tree is hit by a decay tick.
- A tree's quality in phase 1 is equal to 20% of its final growth stage quality, and increases by 20% per growth phase. Thus a tree in the 5th and 6th phase of growth has the maximum quality.
Ways to Improve the Quality of a Tree
- High quality Herbalist Table: You will need high quality source lumber and Plant Fibres to craft a high quality Herbalist Table.
- High quality Treeplanter's Pot: Quality is softcapped by Dexterity and dependent on the quality of the Clay, Fuel, and Kiln used.
- High quality Water: Water quality depends on the location at which you gather it.
- High quality Soil: Just as water, Soil quality is dependent on the location you gather it at. See Finding high quality water, clay, and soil for more information.
- High quality seed: Same quality as the tree of which it was taken. Therefore, planting the highest quality seeds from the trees you grow will increase average quality over time.
- Nature vs Industry: Having a strong Nature Personal Belief will both increase the success of trees living and verify decrease the amount of time it takes for a planted tree to germinate on an Herbalist Table.
- Farming skill: The quality of the tree is softcapped by the Farming skill of the player who plants the seed in the Treeplanter's Pot.

Tree Information
- When a tree grows to its next level, it resources (Bark, Branches, etc, if any) get refreshed.
- Stunted trees do regenerate there resources. (none stunted, still immature, trees will not)
- The general tree growth time per phase is 12..16 hour. (tree with time-penalty 1)
- Trees not growing on there native ground get a additional time penalty of 4x. (L1..L5, Due to the random nature of the L5 to L6 growth, the ground probably has no effect here.)
- The maturation time of the last phase (from level 5 to level 6) is highly random. (ergo: A tree can go to level 6 in a few hours. But it can also take weeks, months or even never. These trees also do not generate any additional resources until they grow to level 6.)
Tree Farming layouts
All trees, Layout 1
Most general space efficient, none skewed, layout for farming trees.
- This can be used for all tree types, without the risk of trees stunting each other, or logs falling into other trees.
- Its downside is the general lack of easy walking space, as such it has the highest general risk of accidentally stunting still immature trees while walking around them.
