Urn's advantages: significantly smaller footprint (two tile space can fit either one crate or several urns), reportedly much easier to lift (movement speed is slowed less when carrying.)
Urn's disadvantages: creation process is time-gated and requires/occupies a Kiln for that time. Unlike with Crate, there are no alternative graphics to indicate if Urn is empty/full.

Urns are containers with 15 slots, in a 3x5 grid.

As Crate also has capacity of 15 slots, although in a 5x3 grid. Comparison is relevant: Urn's advantages: significantly smaller footprint (two tile space can fit either one crate or several urns), reportedly much easier to lift (movement speed is slowed less when carrying.) Urn's disadvantages: creation process is time-gated and requires/occupies a Kiln for that time. Unlike with Crate, there are no alternative graphics to indicate if Urn is empty/full.

How to Acquire

  1. Gather 10 Clay of any type.
  2. Choose Craft > Odds & Ends > Urn, and then click the "Craft" button to get an Unfired Urn. Using a Potter's Wheel will protect its quality from being halved, however this is not necessary since Urns are containers and therefore their quality has no effect and can be ignored.
  3. Place the unfinished pot into a kiln with 23 Branches of fuel, or equivalent in it (see Kiln for details on baking pottery).
  4. Light the kiln with a fire source, and wait.
  5. After 1:49:25 minutes you will get an Urn.
