The dried hide of a Narwhal. Tanning this in a Tanning Tub will create 4 leather.

How to Acquire

Narwhal Hides are obtained by killing a Narwhal and skinning it while holding a sharp object such as a Stone Axe.

After having been dried on a Drying Frame and tanned in a Tanning Tub, a single Grey Seal Hide provides decent Quality Leather. It takes 2 ingame days (16 hours) to dry , 10min = 1%.

Quality

The Quality of a Narwhal Hide is affected by Survival and the sharp tool quality (ie.: stone axe).

If (ToolQ < HideQ) then HideQ=(HideQ+ToolQ)/2
If (Survival < HideQ) then HideQ=(HideQ+Survival)/2

Tool quality softcap is applied before the survival softcap.
