Black coal has the same uses as coal - it is used as fuel for the kiln, Crucible, ore smelter and finery forge, and is an ingredient in the steelmaking process.

Black coal acts as two branches worth of fuel when using kilns, ovens, cauldrons, and any other wood-fueled objects. It acts as 1 tick of fuel when using smelters and crucibles.

How to Acquire

Black coal can be mined in a cave/mine, or chipped from boulders. As of World 11, Black coal cannot be found on Level 1 of the underground.
