Vehicles are any construction, or even animal, used for traveling or transporting people and goods faster and more efficiently. Some simply augment your movespeed, like riding a horse, others allow you to traverse dangerous or otherwise non-traversible terrain like boats allowing you row across deep water, others still merely augment your carrying capacity along with incurring varying movement speed penalties, like a cart.

More specifically, a vehicle can be considered any game object that moves with and/or at the command of the player.

*Many vehicles can have slots for cargo (almost any liftable object), passengers (only hearthlings, no animals allowed), or slots that can take either or. For example, a Snekkja has 3 passenger slots and 16 cargo slots, meaning it can ferry up to 3 Hearthlings plus a captain as well as 16 pieces of cargo. A rowboat, on the other hand, has no passenger or cargo slots, but rather 2 hybrid slots, which can either carry a Hearthling OR a piece of cargo. So a rowboat could hold 3 people -- 2 people and 1 cargo -- or just its rower and 2 cargo. This is not to be confused with Storage, which is simply an inventory that can be opened like a chest within the vehicle.

Traversal Vehicles

These are vehicles that are chiefly used for traveling faster and/or more efficiently. Some simply augment your speed, other are meant to reduce penalties or take advantage of special terrain. Some can also serve as transportation.

Cart Slow - On Foot

Fast - Pulled by Horse

0 0/6/0 Board Must be pulled by either a Hearthling, which reduces their movespeed, or by a Hearthing riding a Horse, which can move as fast as the Horse can.

A Cart is indicated as being idle when its handlebars are touching the ground, and as pulled when held aloft. If holding a cart (as indicated by its handlebars) you can teleport via hearthing or down a road and the Cart WILL teleport with you. This makes them especially useful for transporting goods BACK to your home.
