Lead Glance is a soft ore, meaning it can be smelted in both the primitive Stack Furnace as well as the more efficient Ore Smelter. It smelts into Lead, which can be used to make basic soft metal tools and items, like the Tinker's Throwing Axe and Whitemetal Ring.
It also has a small amount of unique items including the Diver's Weight and the Lead Talisman, but other than those is not useful past the soft metal age, unlike Tin which remains valuable for alloying into Bronze.
Curiously, both Lead Glance and Galena exist in the game, despite the fact they are the same thing. Lead Glance was the historical name for Galena not unlike mercury once being known as Quicksilver.
In real life, Galena as an ore contains both lead and silver, but in-game Galena only gives silver and Lead Glance only gives lead. It is the world's most important lead ore, second being Cerussite.
Lead Glance is an Ore, it must be smelted in an Ore Smelter to extract Bar of Lead with ?? chance (% showed with all mining skills), otherwise it smelts into Slag. Ore is a type of Stone, so it can also be used as pavement and to build with.
