Attention limit determines the total number of curiosities that one can study at a time, determined by the curiosity's Mental Weight. Although the curiosity page shows your attention limit to be equal to your unmodified intelligence, it is in fact influenced by modifications to your intelligence such as the Civilization slider, or wearing a Necromancer's Cloak, allowing one to use more or less than what is shown.
